An ordinary life....

Homeward Bound...

Backblipped 09.12.18

We had to vacate the lodge by 10am so we were up bright and early.

There's a duck pond around the corner from the lodge and as I was getting dressed I heard what sounded hundreds of ducks quacking and it sounded as though it was coming from inside the lodge.  I honestly thought they were all in the hallway!

I gingerly opened the bedroom door expecting them all to be gathered outside but it turned out they were all gathered at the outside door as they'd seen Adrian loading his car and wandered over looking for food.  What a racket they were making.  So cute though :)

We left Aberfeldy just after 10am and our first stop was at the Highland Chocolatier at Grandtully.  Alan has been here before but this was our first time.  What a fabulous place!  If you are a fan of delicious chocolate then this is the place to visit.  There are tours of the chocolate kitchen where you can see the Chocolatiers at work and learn all you need to know about chocolate.  There's also a lovely chocolate lounge where we enjoyed tea with a cheese scone (Adrian and Agnes had the hot chocolate and both declared it was the best they'd ever had.  And they've had a few :-) and tasted the famous velvet truffle.  Delicious.

We finished off with a visit to the chocolate shop where I got a box of chocolate covered cherries and David got a chocolate nut confection.  That with a glass of Baileys and that's Christmas Day breakfast sorted ;-))

The final stop of our trip was The Nutcracker Christmas shop in Crieff where Agnes and I couldn't resist buying a few more Christmas decs.  Think we might have enough now.

Although it's lovely to go away, it's always lovely to come home.  Alan has had a ball the last couple of days but I think he was pleased to see us.  Ally had taken his sitting room to bits and put it together again, sorting out all his Christmas decs and making the room look amazing!  I had a wee tear in my eye when I saw it.

The fun wasn't quite finished as Agnes and Adrian were staying over so another relaxed  dinner and get conversation.

What a lovely few days we have had.
