If you can't beat them...

Island of the blessed.

We awoke to heavy rain, high winds and very low cloud, not inviting for a pensioners mountain walk.  Pete the artist of the party said he was heading for Anglesey to sketch, where he assured us we would need shorts and T shirts because of the sun.  A low level walk on Anglesey seemed much more inviting than the summit of Cnicht.

We drove there through the rain teasing Pete about needing waterproof paper and wax crayons to sketch.  We parked at Newbourough Warren donned our waterproofs and set off for a beach walk.  As we set foot on the sand the weather cleared and the sun came out!   Just as we approached Ynys Llanddwyn (the Island of the blessed) it started to rain.  However there was just enough dry sheltered space at the information board for a sit and lunch.

After exploring the island in the dry we set off back only to be caught in heavy rain half way.  We rounded the expedition off with a visit to an out of the way pub known for it quality.  There we found the others from the centre gathered round a blazing fire.

The extra is a shot of the pensioners outing left to right Jane, "Tush", Phil & Pete.
