Ice skating!

Today we took Violet to see Father Christmas (again!)  at Van Hage's, a local garden centre.  After the really brilliant audience with FC (we were all allowed in and able  to take photos)  it was time for those of us who skate to take to the ice.  My excuse used to be that I had to look after Violet.  Now she's on the ice herself,  so my tack is that I'm needed to take photographs...
After all this activity, we went onto The George & Dragon in Epping to enjoy a late celebratory lunch as today is also The Son's birthday.  We're now home and the younger set are busy playing the Essex version of Monoply: a cheerful end to a lovely day.
