The Boxing Day Walk

A last minute change of heart - my original blip is now in as an extra.  This shot of a garage which is nearly, but not quite, falling down was just too full of character not to take pride of place.

Daughter Jess and her boyfriend James wanted to make a reasonably early start today, as they were due at his parents in Dorset for lunch.  As a result Cathy and I were also up earlier than we might otherwise have been.  As it turned out that was lucky as we definitely caught the best part of the day when we went for the traditional Boxing Day walk.  The extra shows the river at Saltford, looking over towards Kelston's Roundhill, which is reflecting in the very still looking river Avon.  Its actually very full indeed at the moment as we've had a lot of rain just recently - which you can sort of tell from the colour of those fields.

The rest of the day was spent at my sister Janet's with Incredibish and family.  I definitely eat too much at lunch (!) but it was absolutely delicious.

So Christmas Day 1 and Day 2 are now safely done with no sign of a partridge in a pear tree or any turtle doves.  Of course the 3rd day is tomorrow - hopefully we won't be getting a delivery of French hens as I'm not sure where we would put them ...
