Trafalgar square

Enjoyed a day off work. Pottered around the house after M-i-L and husband had headed back up North. Did some washing and catching up on blips.

Had a suspicious doorstep caller after lunch. He claimed to be from the council and was asking questions about insulation. He wasn't happy when I asked him for his council ID and refused to answer any questions. He then rang the bell on the house opposite and started peering through the window. As we've had so many break-ins round us and have been specifically asked to look out for cold callers, I rang the police and reported his visit. Not sure if he was just a really bad (and lying) salesman or if he was casing the area.

Set off for London later to meet up with three old school friends (all male!). We've seen each other a few times over the past few years and it is good to catch up. Had a nice meal in a pub near Trafalgar Square. The fountains were all lit up and looked very pretty.

Got a text from Son number two to say that the police had been round to ask about the cold caller. They called back again while I was out. Think I'll get another visit tomorrow....
