MonoMonday: "Match"

JohnEdward's challenge for today's MonoMonday is "Match".

Well here's 11 matches. One of my Editor's stocking filler presents from Santa was this puzzle, in which you have to alter the patterns of an array of matchsticks in a specific way with the minimum number of moves. 20 different challenges are included so I've only shown one here.

(Santa made a boob, as he hadn't checked that the tin contained the necessary matchsticks - it only contained the challenge cards: someone must have nicked the matches from the tin in the shop. But never mind, matches aren't exactly hard to come by.)

We've also been to the 6pm firework display at Newcastle Civic Centre this evening. I noticed that I have one "extra" left this year so I'm using it for a firework photo - taken using the "Live Composite" mode on the Olympus. (It was rather too crowded for a tripod, so there's a little camera-shake but that just adds to the effect- I hope!) There's a few more on Google Photos here:

We're probably going to go to the midnight display on Newcastle Quayside so tomorrow's blip may feature more fireworks.
