NO KEEP ????

Nets?
Vets?

This oddity was spotted by South Norwood Lake. We walked here from home in West Norwood via Crystal Palace park (lovely squirrel spotted there – see extra pic), and a chat with Brenda from the pet shop spotted out of context in Anerley.

South Norwood Lake was built to supply a canal that flowed from the Thames to Croydon in the early 19th century. The canal wasn't a success and the land was bought by the London and Croydon Railway Company in 1836. They drained the canal and used the trackbed to lay a new railway, which is still in use today.

We caught the train from Norwood Junction home. After a quick cuppa and a shoogle of ginger cats, we took the 68 bus to Covent Garden for Fred to take in his laptop for a keyboard update. We had some more tea at Balthazar's for a treat, then I headed for the Paperchase and Stanfords sales and picked up some useful things. There's a heck of a lot of tat out there! Covent Garden was heaving with folk.

We've spent the evening cooking, catching up with bits and pieces, and I booked my flights to see my friend in San Sebastian in the not-too-distant future. It's lovely to have something sunny to look forward to.
