Burford

Emma has a week off so we took off in the car for the Cotswolds. Emma had heard that the garden centre, Burford Garden Company, was an interesting place to visit for lunch and so it is.

Burford is a small Cotswold's town typical of the area, old stone buildings, a huge church and a High Street full of little shops and cafes. The garden centre is just on the edge of the town, and is very impressive. It covers a large area selling just about everything and does have a very good café with an interesting menu. Considering how small Burford is, the centre, and especially the café, was very popular.

After coffee, a look around the place and lunch we drove into the town centre for a wander round. It was bitterly cold, but we persevered and I was able to take a clutch of pictures.

The results of the flooding of the River Windrush were obvious in places, I suspect at its peak the town must have been cut off. The church is St John the Baptist, pictured here.
