Tiny Bird

I've lost count of which day at sea this is, but once again we are bounding across the ocean blue, this time on our way to Exmouth.  Yesterday, as we were driving through the Australian bush to get to the pearl farm we visited, our driver pointed out several interesting native trees and bushes.  One of them has the most amazing flowers I've ever seen -- they look exactly like tiny birds!  He pulled over to the side of the road, and hopped out to find one to show us.  Most of them have finished blooming now, but he did find this one on the ground, a little past its prime, but still astonishing!  The flower is called Crotalaria Cunninghamii, or Green Birdflower.  It's only about 1 1/2" long, and the detail is amazing -- it looks like the "wings" have feathers, and it even has a little eye!  The native Aborigines use this flower to treat eye problems.
