Winter picnic

While the rest of my family was busy getting ready to set off for my aunt's funeral this morning, I took a walk around my parents' garden. Although the sun was shining, it was extremely cold. It is hard to imagine at this time of year that in the height of summer we eat outside at this picnic table. Indeed, Mr hazelh and I once slept out in the open at this very spot in the summer that we were married.

The funeral service was a fitting tribute to my aunt. It recalled some of the detail noted in the newspaper obituary that I blipped yesterday, and (somewhat appropriately) we left the chapel to the Beatles' I want to hold your hand.
