Shaldon Boats

This morning seemed a lot colder than it has been. We decided that we needed a more powerful heater to see us through the weekend. After our research with Which? and a lot of looking on line, a phone call ascertained that John Lewis in Exeter had good stock of a suitable heater. No-one else nearby seemed to have anything for immediate pick-up so we set off for Exeter. Saturday in early January and the gadget department was packed bit we found the right area but there was nothing we wanted on show. We managed to get hold of a 'partner' to assist and his info told him they had 6 in stock (less than the 20 we'd been told on the phone) but he couldn't find them and they're not particularly small. Eventually he found that the numbers were wrong, they'd had a delivery in November but they were all gone. John Lewis used to be my favourite shop, I'm not so pleased with it at the moment. We managed to get one at Argos who fortunately had just one left in stock. We crossed our fingers, filled in the little slip and went to pay. Success, it arrived at the counter a few minutes later so we grabbed it and ran for home.

Having basked in the warmth of 18 degrees I decided to go out into the grey, chilly day for a blip. I went to Shaldon, where tide was coming in but there was still space to walk on the foreshore. My blip is looking back to the Ness with a variety of boats in the foreground.

Many thanks for all the presents on yesterday's blip of natural sand sculpture. I was pleased you liked that one.
