Sgwarnog: In the Field

A fierce wind was a big factor in today's Northern Premier League fixture between Farsley Celtic and Grantham Town at the Throstle Nest.

The first half was played mainly in Grantham's half as they struggled to clear anything into the wind. Farsley got the first goal, but couldn't find a second. Grantham were able to equalise in the closing stages after Farsley had gone down to ten men.

A point was still enough to take Farsley to the top of the table, albeit seemingly just on alphabetical order as they're tied with South Shields on points, goals scored and goals against. Farsley have a game in hand though. As fate would have it, the two teams will face each other in South Tyneside next Saturday.

Earlier, I saw a small flock of Fieldfare up the moor.
