A time for everything

Winter sunset

Monday
I didn’t get a great deal accomplished today, other than unpacking and several loads of laundry. I had slept really badly, not really getting off to sleep till about 3 am, and then being bothered by allergies/sinus much of the day. We also spoke on the phone with both our daughters. As we were talking to Jen about 3 pm, I was bemoaning the fact that we still hadn’t seen any sun today, and within about ten minutes, as if on cue, we began to see some weak shadows appearing on the wall, as the sun began to put in an appearance. My shot was taken a bit later, as the sun began to set. Hopefully we’ll see a bit more of it tomorrow!
This evening was Book Club, and we were discussing the book Pachinko, by Min Jin Lee, an epic saga of a Korean family in Japan, covering four generations. I had really enjoyed the book, found it well written, and thought it offered plenty of scope for discussion. Unfortunately, others in the group, whilst enjoying aspects of the book, were less enamoured by it, and discussion was fairly limited, and we ended up talking about other books, and still finishing a bit early, so I came home feeling rather disappointed.
