Sunlight and Shadows and Frost

The branches of our elderflower bush (tree?) cast a riot of shadows over the small cabin at the bottom of our garden. Those tangled natural lines contrast with the regular straight lines of the cabin.
Karin and Lonny arrived around lunchtime and we went out for a walk in the sunny cold. (Keith was there too, behind the camera, as you can see in the extra.) We were all well wrapped up but it was cold enough to turn off the iphones if they weren't well tucked away in an inside pocket. However, fortunately the camera batteries didn't seem worried.
Since there was no wind the cold was easy to dress for, and where the sun was shining it felt warm enough to just stand and chat, while the sunlight on our faces generated a little vitamin D!
Later, we ate some delicious soup with bits and pieces, drank a bottle of Alentejo wine (delicious) and sat around chatting until midnight. What a lovely day it was.
