On the beach

Trying to find different ways of processing beach blips ... it was another lovely day, and as we've been intending to go for lunch at El Chambao de Vicente in La Herradura ever since we got here, we decided today was the day. We'd been told it gets busy on a Saturday so we arrived at the very early lunch hour of 1 p.m. It was fairly empty and we were the only ones ordering lunch. It did mean that the paella was freshly cooked, and since I am far from a fan of paella that's been hanging around, this was definitely a good thing. It's not my favourite Spanish dish, but it was done well, and sitting on the beach in the sunshine for lunch makes nearly everything taste good. By the time we left it was getting crowded and the waiters were starting to move at a run. Extra specially for SooB, one of the recommenders.

It was good to have a quiet day today. After I blipped yesterday, we made a sudden decision to go to the Casa de la Cultura for a jazz/funk concert by a local band, rather than just slob around after we'd cleared up. They weren't bad, the funkier they were the better they played, especially in a good arrangement of Summertime

We'd intended to go straight home afterwards, but we were sitting behind a Dutch couple we know from the intercambio, and, er, we ended up in the Backstop, aka the Francisco I, yet again. It was as busy as ever, and the band turned up and took a table behind us. So we ended up getting home after 11.
