Back to Stowe

After a morning doing homework and sorting out laundry it was off to Stowe with us. It's our default walk on a Sunday now!
I wanted to get some miles in and make sure Archie had a long run before a few hours on the lead so I decided to walk to Stowe from home. It's still a bit far for the little Misses to walk all the way there, round the gardens and back again, and the weather looked like it was going to get a bit ropey so we came up with the genius idea of Mr K driving over, parking and then walking back to meet us. Perfect!
We had lunch first - delicious onion soup for me, lamb hotpot for Mr K, and jacket potatoes, beans and cheese for the Little Misses. And they all had cake too but I have given up cakes, biscuits, chocolate and crisps so I just watched them. And thought uncharitable thoughts!!
We had a lovely walk, going a different way to last week and seeing a few new temples.
The bright sunshine we walked over in disappeared and it was a bit nippy. The Little Misses had fun throwing pebbles and chunks of ice onto the frozen lake (see extras. For the lake, not the Little Misses having fun!!)
Despite going earlier than last week we were still the last to leave. We got locked in as usual and walked back to the car in near darkness. Thank God we didn't have to trek back over the fields!!
