Mono Monday - Origins

You must have been a beautiful baby
You must have been a wonderful child
When you were only starting to go to kindergarten
I bet you drove the little boys girls wild...

Origins, what's in a name... Well, my origin celebrates it's anniversary today. It's hard, of course it is, poor me, getting older... but it's a damned sight better than the alternative. After yesterday's "baby with nanna" photo I thought I would go with "baby with entropy" today.

Incredibish has a mixed heritage. When I first joined the CEGB back in the eighties, I was employed as a wireman, a craftsman specialising in the electrical wiring up of control panels and associated equipment. In my first week I was pointed at a telecommunications distribution frame and told to connect the ends of two 200 pair cables, making each wire off onto a tag on a BT tag block. Then I was left to it.

I went back a couple of hours later and asked what now. I was told to get on with the job I'd been given, but I explained I'd made off the cables, tested the connections and tidied the bindings. This was both unexpected and unwelcome, and I was roughly told that the job should have taken a week, and I wasn't going to last long if I set out to make every one else (currently on another tea break) look stupid. What the foreman said was

No more bloody bish bash bosh job done nonsense, ok?
And bish became my moniker and has remained so.

On the emerging Internet I used bish everywhere, until the Internet became more than America and Western Europe and people actually called Bish arrived and often claimed their name first. I chose to become The Incredible Bish, then Incredibish. And here I am.

...And when it came to wiring phone cables
You must have shown the other kids how
I can see the judges' eyes as they handed you the prize
I bet you made the cutest bow
Oh you must've been a beautiful baby
'Cause baby look at you now

It's late, and I'm just home from camera group, so it's a quickie with the iMac camera. If anyone gets the blame for me being here it's Sheol. G'night!
