Marjorie's ramblings

Gabrielle

We went to the Greenhead Christmas Farmers' Market today. There were lots of extra stalls, mainly crafts, in addition to the usual splendid local foods.

I took a few pictures of a woman weaving a fleece and thought I would blip that.

Then we went to Greenhead Church for the exhibition of cribs. Every year this church comes up with new ideas of exhibitions and local people make or loan items. You have no idea how many different cribs there might be. The knitters had been busy as had the sugarcraft crafters! The schools had tiny box cribs and hanging cribs and so it went on.

Haydon Bridge High School had challenged their art students to produce sculptures in the style of various artists. This is Gabrielle and you will have no difficulty in spotting that she is in the style of Anthony Gormley. I would love to show you the whole tableaux but the background made it impossible to produce a decent image of the 5 sculptures. Well done to the students.
