Feeling Raw

2.5C with sunny spells and a lot more cloud. Moderate ESE/E breeze.

Fergus and I went for our walk after lunch. We went round to the harbour, passing the old quay, and out along the shore side of the park. We went as far as the cemetery, turned and came back the same way then along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open).

Despite me having on fairly new walking shoes I found some of the pavements utterly treacherous with a film of water over ice making them really slippy. When I could I walked on grass areas or the road. Fergus employed his all paw drive system very effectively and had none of my problems. It felt so much colder today in the wind.

BBC Radio 4 podcast Loose Ends

Podcast of BBC radio 4's Word of Mouth, with the excellent Michael Rosen in the chair.
Michael Rosen talked to comedian Elis James about how to make language funny. In Elis' case, this is both the English language and the Welsh language, but which is funnier?
