Deep Water Free Solo

Big day today. Seth and I got the train to meet his friend Laura at Bell station, hopped in the car and drove to a place called Dam Cliffs.

Dam Cliffs is a really cool area in the bush with a dam and some cliffs. Great for climbing and swimming! We did a few routes with harnesses and all the standard climbing paraphernalia, but the grades were pretty stiff so I stuck to the easier routes.

Then around 6pm we went over to the dam for some wild swimming, cliff jumping and deep water free soloing. Deep water free solo is a form of climbing with no equipment, because it's safe to fall into the water, shoes are optional though if you don't mind getting them wet. It was so much fun, though probably not what the doctor ordered for my eye.

Then we hiked out, drove to the station and caught the wrong 19:50 train...

We ended up at the end of the line, with delays in Sydney we wandered the town of Lithgow until our train at 22:30. Ah well, it's all an adventure.

Late back to the hostel, devoured tea, bed.
