Another Day in the Life of.......

It may not have been ideal weather for cycling, but it was just right for a get together with my erstwhile cycling pals in the transfigured old Caley Picture House. We were in the company of a multitude of rugby fans from Scotland and Italy and it was a Scottish fan who offered to take this photo for me.

Compared to the family gathering later this afternoon when the Elgin family and the Glasgow family coalesced in the Dower House on their way to skiing holidays in Switzerland and Italy and Omani daughter joining us after her afternoon cycle ride , the meeting of the ladies who don’t cycle but coffee was very civilised and dignified.
However it was lovely to watch the cousins interact joining in the adult conversation from time to time. I never had this cousinly interaction when I was growing up as my two cousins were much older and we never really got together.

We all repaired later to Söderberg to eat pizzas and there were no crumbs left on anyone’s plate. Wine was drunk as the method of travel was by train and tram, and drunk it was which helped with the rendition of a Gaelic waulking song, a Jewish song, and the periodic table sung in unison by Nina and Anna. When they all departed at the same time, the house suddenly felt deathly quiet.

Oh and I would like to mention here that the Scottish rugby team ‘done good’ as they say up here, in beating Italy by a respectable margin.
