Catching the last of the Sun ...

... again!

Actually I just missed it as the sun disappeared behind an approaching bank of cloud before lunch.  Under glass in the cold frames there were a few flowers that had opened in the morning's (relative) warmth including this hybrid,  Crocus kerndorffiorum  x leichtlinii.  It's a most unusual shade of pale blue.

After lunch a trip to the grandparents on drain flushing duty.  Good to catch up with two of the sisters-in-law who were there to talk funeral arrangements and wills with their respective parents.  The two families, united when widow and widower were married over thirty years ago get on very well.  The afternoon closed with an extended session of heavy digging at the allotment.  The evening will close early, like my eyes!
