Quod oculus meus videt

In the Gap

Another very windy day.  The sun made the briefest of appearances first thing, appearing for less than 10 minutes between rising and sliding behind a thick bank of cloud.  I wasn't in position to make the most of the light but since they were the only images I took all day, this will have to suffice.

What I hadn't appreciated was the amount of new palisade fencing that has been erected along the railway line from Walsall to Cannock.  You can see it clearly in this image, along with the new gantries for the electrification that has just taken place.  Frustratingly, the trains running along this stretch of line are still diesel, a victim of the moratorium on schedule changes brought in after the problems that occurred last year when new timetables were introduced.  This despite the new electric rolling stock being available and the desperate need for these diesel trains and carriages to be redeployed elsewhere in the West Midlands to improve services for other overcrowded routes.  There are times when a bit of common sense ought to be applied!
