A Wind Swept Blip Meet

The day started with feverish activity across the blip meet forum as today was supposed to be a photo walk around Weston Park.  The weather warning had been escalated to amber for the area and even those that had set out (AnnieandChris), soon called to report that conditions were atrocious and that with so far to travel, reluctantly they were turning back.

The only attendees, crazily, lived the furthest away, but had come down the night before, staying in a local hotel.  L and I headed over at the appointed time, noting clear evidence of the wind's impact on local trees, to meet up.

Clickychick and Jerra arrived safely and after a coffee we even had a window of weather to take a brief walk around the gardens.  We'd been briefed by staff at the park not to go into Temple Wood because of the risk of branches coming down.

Afterwards, we had lunch in the brasserie, before heading our separate ways home.  Thank you both for the effort you made to come down. I'm sure everyone who'd intended to join the meet are sorry that the conditions were so awful that it prevented their attendance.

Day Miles: 1 mile       Total Miles: 211.7 miles
