Frozen Stream

I dove an hour and a half west today and the trees there were covered in a layer of ice. They sparkled in the sunshine, I don't recall seeing that before. I didn't have time to stop and hadn't got my camera anyway - should have known!

By the time I came to shoot it was overcast and walking around very difficult. After the recent rain and cold, the snow was now frozen solid - just a sheet of ice. Think I'll have to get some spikes.

Eventually found this little stream bed with just a trickle of water. Love the pattern created by the bubbles against a few leaves and twigs. I added a bit of split toning to accentuate the cold feeling.
