Monday, Monday, so once sang the Mamas and Papas!

The sunrise today was beautiful.
I guess I've been "out of the loop" for a few days on Blip.
A bit like hibernating!
It was such a lovely morning that we went for the usual 3 mile circular walk and enjoyed the feel that spring is knocking on the door.
As we were making our way back past a school that is having a big extension, hubby spotted these yellow hard hats outside the site office. They were being used as hanging flower baskets! Novel idea!
The rooks are beginning to congregate around their nesting site! raucous birds! A magpie had been in the maple tree at the end of the garden trying to pull off some of the smaller twigs to take to his nest building site.

It reminded me of my favourite poet, Edward Thomas and his poem entitled "Thaw".

"Over the land freckled with snow half-thawed
The speculating rooks at their nests cawed
And saw from elm-tops, delicate as flower of grass,
What we below could not see, Winter pass."
