Sacré Coeur

Viewed looking north from the top floor (6th) of the Pompidou Center in Paris, through a window in the exhibition on Cubism. I didn't zoom in far enough for the this shot of Sacré Coeur, a Catholic Basilica constructed from 1875 to 1914, but that gives it a bit of a mysterious feeling.

The  Cubism  exhibition is large and absolutely superb (the museum's link doesn't seem to work) .  The first third, covering ca. 1906 to 1912 felt magical to me--almost entirely the creative tandem of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, working step by step into their visionary artistry. The works are wonderfully hung, with plenty of space between them in the large galleries. I enjoyed composing the extra, with two 1909 depictions by Picasso of Fernande, his lover at the time.
