A Tribute to Richard

I have blipped this sculpture before but I am posting it again as a tribute to my son-in- law, who carved it, and who died so suddenly on Wednesday at far too young an age. He was the devoted father of my 19 year old granddaughter who suffered the trauma of finding him.

You think when you become a mother that you are in charge of sorting everything out for your family for ever, so it comes as a shock to know that your come-of- age children have put you out to pasture long ago and between them feel responsible for sorting out their own affairs and those of the generation that follows.
I admit to feeling nothing but relief at this downgrading of status.
