Another Edinburgh Disgrace

I sometimes wonder if any members of the Edinburgh town council Roads Department ever travel on the main thoroughfares in the City and wonder how much worse they can allow the standard to drop before they act. After all, we have all heard how much money the Christmas/NewYear bonanza brought to the council coffers but we rarely hear how much of that is ploughed into the upkeep of the roads, not a lot I would guess. Perhaps the compensation money paid out to vehicles with broken chassis and cyclists with broken bodies uses most of it up.

These two blips were casual blips taken on the Mound, where the exposed wires cause me concern, and at Tollcross as I waited to cross the road. They are really not representative as there are many more much worse potholes, most of which are in the cycle lanes on busy main roads and in this rain, filled with water.
As for residential roads, they are just a collection of potholes and uneven dumps of tarmac, but being quieter, the cyclist is able to chicane around them.

Another dismal day with little actual exercise although I’m having virtual exercise watching the Athletics in Glasgow and hoping that Laura Muir gets a world record in the 1000m.
