Another Ruined Palace

We went up the hill today to Bundi Palace - an extraordinary decaying edifice with fantastic murals, many of which can still be seen (extras).  The Palace was built in the late 1500's and bits were added well into the 1600's. It had been left locked for many years but has gradually been opened up and slowly some restoration is taking place. A really interesting visit - but more of those Indian steps taking a toll on the knees! So we had to find a cafe and sit a while as we came down off the hill. Jay's Cafe provided us with a lovely snack and the best lassi we have had this trip! Jay is a card and hugely entertaining! Well worth the visit.
Later we went for a stroll to find a step well - little did we know we'd passed it last night during our stroll in the market. It looks quite modern, had very little water and what was there was filthy, littered with rubbish and not at all inviting!
