Frog In The Road

I did get out for a walk with Finlay today - he seems to have recovered from his injury…hopefully he had just tweaked something and it will be ok.

Just as we were crossing the road back to our house we encountered this frog! I managed to pick it up - whilst trying to keep Finlay away and making sure that cars went around us! I put it down on the grass verge and then one of the neighbours came out to see what I was up to - and he retrieved it and carried it down to the end of the road near to the beck.

I think it is a Common Frog. Looking at the size of it I am guessing it is a female full of eggs.

Lucky we came along when we did or it may have ended up as roadkill.
