Branches

The trees look lovely when the leaves are off - you can see the shape of the smaller branches and twigs and the way that a tree naturally finds a balanced form. This one is part of what looks like a very old hedgerow whose individual bushes have all been grazed off at the lower level, leaving a pattern of bare limbs. In the far distance is a glimpse of the church in a neighbouring village. In spite of the tranquillity of the scene, the park where I was walking was fairly busy with people out to get some fresh air, although the weather was good deal duller than yesterday.

Before long the leaves will arrive and these patterns will disappear until next winter.
