Demolition

Meadowbank Stadium is almost gone. As are the trees that were between the main stand and the road. Presumably planted when the stadium was first built for the 1970 Commonwealth Games that would make them almost fifty years old it is disappointing that the re-development of the site cannot find a way to preserve them. Even if they are replaced with new trees, they won't look the same in my lifetime.
In the evening we had the first meeting of our Photography discussion group in The Skylark - talking about the portraits of Arnold Newman.
