Coldgate Water

A late start after a late night! When we finally got going, it was a day of domestic stuff, a trip to the recycling centre, and a short walk in Happy Valley - absolutely beautiful with snowdrops carpeting the woods. Then a pleasant evening with John C, and his friends D and A. J cooked a delicious four-course meal, including a splendid dish of curried lamb!

Up on the Cheviot hills, water falling as rain or snow collects in to several tiny streams that join together to become the Harthope Burn and the Carey Burn which, in turn, join to become the Coldgate Water. It flows down through Happy Valley in to the Wooler Water, on in to the River Till and, finally, in to the mighty River Tweed, before flowing out in to the sea. Where once again the water cycle begins.  
And the water cycle is just one of the ecosystems on our planet that is being affected by climate change...
