On the windowsill

Storm Dennis has been wreaking havoc all day, though, touch wood, so far in this part of Northumberland we seem to have come off lightly with relatively little rain compared with other parts of the UK. Pictures on the the news of terrible flooding and wind damage, especially in parts of Wales and Yorkshire.

Late this afternoon, MrM and I went down to Alnwick for a meal. We had intended to walk on the beach first, but abandoned that idea as the thought of being sandblasted wasn't very appealing! Then to Lesbury, for a charity 'Folk/Variety' concert - there was certainly an interesting variety of acts. MrM joined several other musicians and a very talented young dancer on stage for the finale. Afterwards, back to M and P's house, where I felt obliged to partake of the food M had prepared - enough to feed a small army, and more. (All very nice, and I had very little, but my digestive system really doesn't take kindly to eating so late, especially after a Sunday dinner!)

Quite a 'hairy' journey home, as Dennis had been busy while we were out. MrM managed to avoid all the branches and twigs strewn across the road and, thankfully, no trees had come down.

No photos of the concert, so here's another emergency Blip I took earlier in the day - the bulbs on the kitchen windowsill. The top-heavy hyacinths intermingling with the miniature daffs.
