Remnants...

...of snow

The rapid thaw continued yesterday, and by this morning the snow had almost gone. The temperatures reached double figures, which felt quite tropical after the recent sub-zero temperatures, and on our walk we ended up carrying our jackets. It was a short, circular road walk taking us past the tip, to establish whether or not it's open - it isn't. The sun was shining, and the birds singing, and it was good to be out!

Arrived back home to discover that the letter inviting me for vaccination had arrived. Failed to arrange an appointment online, as you have to book both doses - I could get the first dose in Newcastle (45 miles away), but the only centre available for the second dose came up as Brighton, a mere 390 miles away! Much as a trip to the seaside sounds good, maybe I'll just try again later...
