Pretty Flamingo

WEDNESDAY

We started the day with a 58 km drive to Kolassi Castle at Limassol. It was occupied by the Knight’s Templar during the Crusades who exploited the local wine making and seemed to have a right merry old time.

I’d planned to visit the Limassol Motor Museum, but these plans were cast aside when we discovered on Twitter that there was a large flock of wild flamingoes on the salt lakes at Larnaca - another 60 km further east. So off we went. It was a once in a lifetime experience and well worth the extra mileage.

A very late lunch in the Turkish quarter at Limassol and a 120 km drive back to the hotel.
