First muck flying

Following yesterday's Blip, this was taken at the picnic table and the left edge of the forest in the background is where yesterday's photo was taken. Today's was taken exactly an hour later at 18:00 and the snow moon was beginning to get brighter as the sun slowly dipped below the hill behind me.

One of the farmers has used the chance of the melted snow to spread muck. I am not up to date with the laws but pretty sure no organic fertiliser can be spread on a closed snow area and that during the winter months, only muck. Slurry can only be spread when the ground is able to "use" it and there are some specific dates which totally forbid its use.

Today is hopefully the start of the end of Brexit. Seven Labour MPs resigned the Whip* and have set up an Independent Group. A combination of anger at the state of the Labour Party and its leadership - anti-Semitism, hate, incompetence and of course, copying the Tory party in kicking the Brexit can further down the road. 

I am old enough to remember the 1981split away of the two Labour MPs and forming the SDP after the Labour party conference called for the UK to give up its atom bombs and to exit from the EEC(EU). They were staunch Europeans. I supported them back then just as I do the new group.

The chances of the Group becoming anything of meaning is small as long as the UK continues with its undemocratic parliamentary system. Ironic that the Brexiteers accuse the Eu of being undemocratic.

But at least it is good to see MPs with principles at the risk of losing their seats at the next election. Until that time they must be prepared to have an awful lot of muck thrown at them.
