Geese

Walked into town to call in at Aldi’s for a few supplies. Had to get back as the washing machine was being delivered between 1.00 and 3.00pm. No inspiration for a blip until I had the idea of taking a shot of waterbirds on Mote Park Lake and apply a Prisma filter to create an abstract image for today’s challenge. Thank you Ingeborg for hosting.

Earlier I’d disconnected the old machine, not without problem as the old stop valve had seized up and would not close. I had to switch off the water altogether to allow disconnection.

They’re heavy beasts, space limited and water dripping from various orifices meaning it was a struggle to get it out of the utility room. The space it vacated was dirty with evidence of dirty water having leaked out of the machine.

I had to replace the stop valve. A trip to Screwfix sorted a new one. Nothing is straightforward with DIY. The old olive needed sawing through to remove it so that the new olive and fitting could be attached.

Eventually all was sorted and we began the delicate process of massaging the new lump into that confined space. It all eventually went it and as far as I can see without kinks or pipes being trapped. We await testing tomorrow.
