Sgwarnog: In the Field

Bay

After months of Saturday train strikes it was good to be able to fit in a modest day out to Morecambe.

Alighting at Bare Lane I popped into Happy Mount Park before arriving at the promenade. From there I walked the few miles down to the Battery, with modest excursions out into the Bay to get a better view of the birds (Oystercatcher and Curlew) and back onto dry land for a rummage in the Old Pier Bookshop.

Then it was time to head to the Globe Arena for a League Two fixture between Morecambe and Lincoln City: Shrimps v Imps. Lincoln are at the top of the table and Morecambe near the bottom, so it wasn't a surprise that the visitors ran out 2-0 winners.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay for the sunset over the bay, although what I glimpsed of it from the station looked spectacular.

Today's miles walked: .0; Walking Total: 264.3/1000
