Black beech....

.....one of my favourite trees, it's getting tall and probably shouldn't be in an urban setting ie my garden but how can I part with it......the birds love it, we love it.....so we keep getting it pruned and looked after year after year, it's healthy.

Black beech are large forest trees endemic to New Zealand. In the forest their trunks are often covered in black mould resulting from the honeydew of aphids that feed on the sap.

Tonight the doors and windows were flung open, it was 33C! The early light was just catching the branches as the sun was descending.
