If you can't beat them...

Turdus philomenos

Song Thrushes are an extremely rare visitor to the garden.  I would think we see more of the winter thrushes (Redwing & Fieldfare) no to mention the Mistle Thrush.  Today when I glanced out there was one foraging around the foot of one of the Hollies.

It even stayed long enough for me to find the camera and change lens.  Song Thrushes suffered a decline in the late 90s but fortunately things seem to have turned the corner.  Numbers are increasing slowly.   So today's blip had to be a record shot.

Something else I want to keep a record of for myself.  My first attempt at Tom Kerridge's Chicken, Ham and Leek pie.   Not beautiful but it has been eaten and I am still alive.
