Cambridge in the sunshine

We had a lot of fun at the Quiz Night last night. Our group was a party of twelve but it was decided it was too big a group so we split into two teams of six made up of one team of males and one team of females - the men beat us by one point and thankfully we did not come last! (Those difficult sports questions....)

This morning we were up early as we were going to Cambridge for the day to see Adam and help him choose accommodation for the next academic year. I quickly cooked some bolognaise sauce for pasta before we left for Thomas in case we got back late for supper.

Although Adam remains a member of his college until he finishes his studies he has chosen not to live in college as a post graduate student but rather wants to live nearer the hospital where he will be based for his research. He also is tired of renting a room in grubby student housing so we went looking at non-student accommodation today. We saw so many properties it all got a bit confusing trying to remember what we saw. Other than an hour for lunch we were busy all day but it was a very worthwhile exercise. We only got home after 8pm so it has been a very long day.

I had no time for photos but I managed to take this shot when we went for lunch. The weather was a mixture of sunshine and rain today and that cold wind coming off the east coast was freezing today. This was a moment of lovely sunshine and blue skies before it turned cloudy again. I have added an extra of Adam - poor boy was dying of embarrassment at being photographed like a tourist by his mum but he did oblige!

It is now late and we have not had supper yet, so I will quickly go make something light. No time for journals today, I will catch up tomorrow.
