The Inspector Calls

This morning was wet. Very wet. And it was the day when the inspector, who will rule for or against the 95 houses proposed to be built in the field which backs onto our garden, had come to the site to gather the facts and reality of the case. The original proposal was turned down by the local Council but the developer's have appealed against that decision to the government - hence the inquiry. We now have wait and see what the final decision will be.

The inspector had toured the fields and other parts of the village which will be affected. The blip shows a group standing in our garden looking towards the view that would disappear. One point the developers have made is that there is a viable pedestrian route from the site to the village school; it's a walk alongside a very busy road with a couple of pinch points where the path narrows considerably. The inspector had to jump out of the way of splash from a passing lorry so the weather might have acted in our favour.

I had a good evening at camera club tonight gaining both first and second places in the Winner on the Night print competition. There was an excellent display of high quality images and I was especially delighted with the way many members had risen to the challenge.
