Old West photo shoot

About 30mns from Santa  Fe, there's a movie set of a whole old West town, which has been used for shooting over 250 westerns. It's not open to the public, only to movie productions and for special events.  Our workshop was able to spend four hours there, shooting with models (from gun slingers to native Americans to assorted ladies).

We were put in groups of three working with one model, whom we could direct as we wished for an hour, then we switched models. The weather didn't exactly cooperate: we had mist, thunderstorms, a brief appearance by the sun, and downright pouring rain! It was an interesting learning experience all around -- not the least of which shooting inside with little to no light! None of us had ever worked with models, so the first hour was a bit tentative.  We all loosened up a bit after that and had some fun (see my extra where I enlisted one of my classmates to be put in jail by one of model) ;)  Def look at the pix in large for true resolution.

This workshop makes for very long days, which start with a review by the instructor and classmates of five pix we choose from the shoots the day before, followed by a lecture.  We then set off for the next photo shoot and return to process and select our five pix.  Except for tonite, we also have evening lectures and/or social gatherings. I can safely say I'm pooped (but in a good sorta way) ;)

Snow in the forecast tomorrow....
