Wanderings & Witterings

Seafar Woods

Tuesday's walk with Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Ramblers had it all, but will mostly be remembered for the hailstorm that engulfed us as we walked through Cumbernauld Village.

Meeting at the Town Centre, our route took us first down into Cumbernauld Glen. It started raining heavily at that point and we took a break to get the waterproofs on. It was while we were doing that, sheltering under an underpass, that the rain turn to hail of Biblical proportions. Suitably togged up, we continued and were delighted that the downpour lasted only another 10-15 minutes. The rest of the walk, through Seafar Woods (pictured) and back to the Town Centre, continued in bright sunshine, if more than a little windy.

Thankfully the worst of the day's weather hit us a few hours later. Unfortunately I had to go out again, but this time the hazards were driving rather than drowning.
