Today was the day we finally had to come home. We've extended a couple of times but couldn't put it off any longer!!
But before heading home there was time for bit more holiday making!
I took Archie out for a lovely early morning walk before we packed up. It was weird without my mum and Elsie!!
The Little Misses made the most of a few more hours off on their bikes. They've made a friend, Miss O, and enjoyed their last morning with her.
Before we left we went into reception to book another week in Summer. Having scouted out all the pitches and chosen one that backs onto the heath and has a tree to climb!
I can't wait to get back!!
We finally dragged ourselves away and headed a few miles down the road to Letheringsett Water Mill. What a fascinating place!! One of only twenty four working watermills in the UK. It was so interesting looking around. And Miss L rocked her mask which the owner of the mill kindly suggested she should wear when we happened to mention she is Coeliac.
Handily enough the mill was only a minute away from the fabulous Back To The Garden farm shop and cafe where we went the other day.
After another wonderful lunch and armed with a box full of goodies (almond and apricot tart, chocolate tart, pork pies, gluten free cookies and flour, soap, hyacinths, chicken drumsticks and Grey Seal coffee beans. Just to keep us going!) it was time to set off for home.
Stopping off briefly at Godwick - apparently one of the best examples of a lost medieval village in the country. Mostly just bumpy fields full of sheep with a ruined church tower but interesting to see. The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book and was inhabited until all the the villagers left in the 17th Century following bad weather and poor harvests.
After a brief walk there (and some tart eating) it was straight home. We finally got here at about 6pm.
It feels like we've been away for months!!
