Who's A Pretty Boy!

Parked on Tantallon Terrace, the easternmost end of North Berwick, we watched a seagull pecking at the windscreen wiper of the adjacent car before admiring its reflection. We walked along the coast to the far end of the Glen Golf Course and back along the footpath, to find the seagull had, in our absence, also pecked at our own wiper blades, leaving similar smears on the glass.

On our way between Tyninghame Smithy cafe and North Berwick we stopped to take the photograph in the extra, near to Balgone Barns. Noted on the OS 6" map of 1843 as a Dove Cot but all maps subsequent to OS 1" for 1921 as an Old Windmill, we puzzled at the arched construction at the base, reminiscent of a limekiln. Perhaps this building has seen multiple usage in its lifetime but appears to be unused now, except as a landmark.
