May the birthday celebrations begin ...!

The day dawned on a new year for me today, and what a wonderful day it was! The weather is warming up and we were able to go for a long walk along the beach, all the way to the beautiful Maldives tide pools. I swam in the transparent turquoise water and felt totally enlivened.  

The second part of my birthday celebrations was an aperitivo and dinner at a beautiful oceanside restaurant - the Hau Tree Lanai - in the company of (and offered by) my loving husband Tiziano. We drove into Waikiki and left the car at Foster Tower so that we could walk along the beach to the restaurant. It was so lovely watching the sun go down over the ocean and then eating by torchlight (see the other photo).

A lovely day! It makes growing older a little easier :-)
