Glencoe - Day 1 -Buachaille Etive Mor

Wow! What an awesome day we have had. We were up ridiculously early to get our 7.30am flight to Glasgow, which went off without any problems. At Glasgow airport we picked up our hired car and set off towards Glencoe.

It was raining with dull light, but nevertheless we headed off to our first stop - Kilchurn Castle, as seen in the extras. We certainly needed our wellies to get down to the loch edge as it was very boggy. It rained the whole time there and it was a case of constantly wiping the rain drops off the camera lens. By now we were starving so we went to a cafe inTyndrum for a light lunch.

Driving up the A82 with a camera was like being a kid in a candy store, I was spoilt for choice for the most beautiful scenes to photograph. When the clouds lifted and there was even some blue sky I thought I was in heaven! Next stop was Blackrock Cottage near the Glencoe Ski Resort, and I had beautiful sunshine for this - see extras. On to the gem of Glencoe, Beachaille Etive Mor, which is my main blip. Driving through Glencoe pass we kept stopping every 500 meters or so for me to take more photos.

We finally arrived at our hotel in Glencoe at about 4.30pm and were greeted with a roaring fire and glasses of ice cold champagne - just bliss! It has been the most wonderful day, I am totally in love with Scotland and I can see it is also working it's magic on Gavin too! Our hotel is lovely, we have a garden suite which can be self catering if we wish, although tonight we have chosen to eat in the hotel restaurant.

Tomorrow the forecast is for more rain, but let's see what further magic the day brings. I am very tired after our early start so it will be an early night tonight.
